The earliest and fullest visitation list is dated 1796. 22 years after that list, John Brown again left a list complied for visiting his parishioners. If there were intermediate lists - they have been lost, but since there are notes on the 1796 list, including a date 1812 and a sum showing 16 years difference between that and 1796, it seems likely that he kept the original list alive for 18 years before remaking this list for the 1818 visitation. This list is in two separate parts, July 1818 and August 1818.
This list is compared with the 1796 list and notes have been made on it where there are points of interest. Also, this list gives clues to the 1796 lists and notes have been made updating that in light of evidence from this list.
The original is in a notebook some 4" x 7" and the names are more spread out than the 1796 list and the script is generally less faded. The names were originally written in one column to a page, leaving a spare column to the right for later additions. These additions may be errors, young families just starting up or new arrivals in the area.
It is interesting to hypothesise about the differences in style betwen this list and the 1796 one. He now always puts, e.g. Mary his wife. Also there are notes such as Jas. Kennedy Senr, these seem to link families presumably where John Brown needed notes to avoid showing he did not remember the family relationships concerned. It must have been difficult to remember everyone and who was who. Such notes save embarrassment and are extremely useful to a genealogist studing the families!
Comments of the families and the list are always added after the family to which they refer.
The families have also been numbered thus F001. These are not James Brown's numbers but have been added to the WWW version to aid researchers in identifying which entry they refer to. This is very helpful in emails!

This family is difficult to interpret. The word 'dead' has been appended to Matthew. The three names (marked ¦) beneath that have been boxed off from the family and the next three names have been added beneath the word 'dead' - but are difficult to read. However there is a faint vertical line through them, possibly deleting the box contents.
Lavonne suggests that, on a revisitation of the minister, 'Dead' was added beside Matthew Mc Maa's entry along with the new entry of James Mc Maa, Mary Ann and Matth. Probably the boxing of the names came with the revisitation and the two James Mc Maa are one and the same. Perhaps the revisitation occured about 2-3 years latter.. James married and has one child. Also the father died within this time frame. The writing and ink seems to be the same for Dead and Jas Mc Maa entry.
Widow Dorrance has a large X through the name. Also a faint line seems to divide Widow Dorrance from Jno Dorrance - Dead.
