Broan is a townland north, north-east of Garvagh a short distance east off the main Garvagh/Coleraine Road.

One locality that has me completely baffled is Broane.
It appears a few times in Bann Valley records, e.g.
Aghadowey Presbyterian Church Marriage Records
1849 marriage John Rankin & Mary Jane Gormly. Bride's residence is Broane.
1852 marriage William Henry & Jane McClenahin. Groom's residence is Broane.
Moneydig Presbyterian Church records
1868 marriage John Faulkner & Margaret Boyd. Groom's residence is Broane.
If somebody has some local knowledge on this one I'd like to hear from them!
