Colleen, Craigatempin is in the Kilraghts Parish, near the Reformed =
Presbyterian Church. I have found some information on the family of this =
John Kirkpatrick & Isabella Torrens.
There Children were baptised in Kilraghts Presbyterian Church;-
10 Sept 1849 , John Kirkpatrick,
26 Mar ?/ May ? 1852, Samuel Chestnutt K...
Mar 1855, Eliza K.
27 Apr 1856. Frank K.
14 June 1858, Eliza/ David K.
7 July 1861, Agnes K.
There was a Sunday School at Craigatempin , which was held in a Barn =
until 1890 when I hall was erected, It was openned in 1892 and was named =
the Isabella Torrens Kirkpatrick Memorial Hall, as Isabella had been one =
of the founders of the Sunday School.=20
Her son Frank was the 1st Superintendant of the Hall, when he died in =
1930, he left a lot of money for its continuation. one of the =
Superintendants to suceed him was a Samuel Kirkpatrick.
Back to the Frank Kirkpatrick, He was a local Grocer and used to go =
around the countryside selling grocerries, and he also wanted my G, =
Grandfather James G. Torrens to help him buy land, but my G, Grandfather =
had already bought 28 acres for =A3300 in about 1913/14.
So after paying that much in those days he certainly couldnt afford to =
help out Frank.
I hope this information helps !!
Best Wishes,
Derek.

To Derek:
Thank you for those certificate notes. The one of interest to me is =
the one I have saved on this reply. My great-great-grandfather was a =
John KIRKPATRICK. His son, William, was from Drumlee, Parish of Finvoy, =
and was a widower when he married Jane PATTERSON in 1872. It is =
possible that the witness on the following certificate was his father, =
John.
I have a KIRKPATRICK/TORRENS wedding certificate and wonder if these =
people are my great-great-grandparents:
March 22, 1847 At 1st Ballymoney Pres. Church, Parish of Ballymoney, =
Co. Antrim
Groom: John KIRKPATRICK of full age bachelor Craigatempin, =
Parish of Ballymoney
Groom's father: William KIRKPATRICK farmer
to
Isabella TORRANS of full age spinster Craigatempin, Parish of =
Ballymoney
Bride's father: Samuel TORRENS farmer
Witnesses: Samuel TORRENS and Samuel LAMONT
John KIRKPATRICK signed his name.
Isabella TORRANS made an X
Note the discrepancy between the spelling of the bride's surname, with =
an A, and the witness's signature, with an E. I think this would be the =
minister's error since the bride could not write.
Derek, I'm wondering if the John KIRKPATRICK who witnessed the =
marriage of James ARMOUR and Nancy TORRANCE was the brother-in-law of =
the bride, if it was the same KIRKPATRICK who married Isabella TORRANS. =
Or, it could be a son of John KIRKPATRICK'S witnessing his cousin's =
marriage.
Is Craigatempin south of the town of Ballymoney?=20
