Hi, we (a second cousin in Scotland, and myself in the USA) just found your
website and I am amazed at the extensive work put into listing such
wonderful data. Thank you for all your efforts to give us lost searchers a
small hook to dig out the bricks from the wall. From the records listed we
have found some small family groups that we are certain are connected not
only to each other but to our family line and even have been able to take
one small step back in that line. Primarily we are looking at the
NELSON/NEILSON families with links to JOHNSTON, DOBBINS, CURRY (include any
spelling variations that naturally occur). Basically we have David &
Margaret NELSON (ca. 1775) > David NELSON & Jane Agnes DOBBINS (ca. 1800) >
Joseph NELSON/NEILSON & Jane JOHNSTON (abt. 1821 & 7 Feb 1825). I have
information that Joseph had other siblings and managed to complete some data
with help from your site. Of course we can bring the direct line up to the
present day. Much of our line ended up in Scotland by the time of the 1881
census. We believe some links emigrated to the USA and possibly Canada.
If anyone else out there is also researching this line, I would appreciate
hearing from them. Thanks again for a great opportunity to enhance our
family tree!
Anne Maitland Pitts
