Between 25-26 April 1859 a hurricane struck Britain which resulted in 2 days
of horror & deatruction.A total of 133 ships wre sunk & 90 were badly 
damaged,
with some 800 lives lost

 is this how Thomas Wilson drowned ? - my Aunt thinks he was on his way 
to USA

any ideas where passenger lists of people drowned at Sea April 1859

I was in Garvagh last month and saw the McAtamney Butcher Shop on the main  
street. I'm also interested in the name since one of my ancestors-an O'Kane  
married a McAtamney.
There were McAtamneys in Brooklyn NY in the 1920's to 1960's.
 
I can't help you with your ancestors but wanted to pass this on for  possible 
future links in your research.
