Hi Chris
"1851 census, claimant Bridget McLaughlin, father John McAtamney, mother
Catherine McAtamney, townland Artnagross, parish Finvoy, barony Kilcon,
county Lon donderry, aged 72"
I believe Artnagross townland in the parish of Finvoy, barony of Kilconway,
is in County Antrim, not Londonderry - just a small point in case someone
else is using the record.
Old age pensions began in 1911for people over 70, and many of these people
were born before registration of births, so had to apply to census admin for
proof of age. Occasionally people were confused about their age, sometimes
believing themselves older than they were ??
