Hi Hugh
Thanks for your message. My grandfather, John Crockett, came to Canada =
in the 1890's to drive stagecoach on Vancouver Island, and when he =
married my grandmother in 1906, Robert Surgenor was his best man. The =
Surgenor family were considered to be cousins, but my Mom, born 1907, =
who is very energetic and has a wonderful memory of past and present =
(playing bridge 3 times a week, going to exercise classes, volunteering =
at the hospital, etc.) doesn't know exactly what the connection with the =
Surgenors is.

I have a Robert McAllister born c1920 Irleand and married a Martha =
Surgenor and immigrated to Canada. I believe Martha and Robert had at =
least 1 daughter Shirley.
