David, a mistake on my part, I shall have to go to Belfast to PRONI to =
get the 1966 census and that may take a bit longer. As an aside, as a =
boy I attended Drumachose Presbyterian Church in the 1950s. I believe =
the one your ancester formed was a wooden building off Main Street where =
Tescos now stands but at some point there was a falling out within the =
congregation and the breakaway part built the church which now stands in =
Church Street.
A further aside, I lived in Scotland for about 16 years, initally in =
Helensburgh and later in Scotlandwell, near Kinross.
Regards
Morrison

Hello Morrison, Yes. James Murrell married Margaret Torrance, Robert =
Muriel married Mary Allison in 1739. There were at least three Roberts.I =
shall be very interested if you access the 1766 census.I am unlikely to =
be able to visit Ireland (from Scotland) for some time.Good hunting! =
David.

Hello David,
Many thanks for your info which I find it interesting.I have very =
little info on the Murrells as I have only just started investigating, =
being stuck on other ancesters. One piece I do have is a James and =
Robert of Ballyquin listed as householders in the 1740 Religious Census. =
When I next get to Coleraine, probably next week, I will look in the =
1766 census. I will let you know if I find anything.
Regards
Morrison

Hello Morrison, Thank you for Maria Murrell's D.O.B. and =
parentage.I also have an Alice Murrell who married William Haslett =
{lower Drumneecy) possibly also a daughter of John and Alice. There were =
two John Murrells who were Flax growers at Balteagh in 1796.My ancestors =
appear as flax growers at Desertoghill in that year and being the first =
Murrells to be traced in that area they almost certainly came from the =
Roe Valley family. Family lore has it that they were originally =
Huguenots who arrived at Ballyquin about 1700. Does this interest you? =
Regards, David.=20
