[Bann Valley] Ancestors/Members Profiles
My connections with the Bann Valley area are through my gt-grandmother
Isabella is one of the Drumsara Line. Several years ago it became apparent
that both her paternal grandfather & grandmother were Torrens/Torrance.
Through her mother's line she is descended as follows from John Torrence &
his wife Jean (Jane) nee Torrance both well documented on the Torrens
John Torrence (1717 - 1804)
m. Jean (Jane) Torrance (1728/29 - 1802)
1. Samuel Torrance (Bef 1759/60 - Bef 1804)
m. Mary (possibly SMITH) (1767 - ??)
2. Margaret Torrance (1759 - ??)
m. Hugh Torrens (1793 - 1878)
3. Robert Torrens (1822 - 1902)
m. Jane Johnston (1827 - 1902)
4. Isabella Torrens (1861 - 1934)
m Walter Alma Taylor (1855 - 1935)
It is possible that Hugh Torrens (1793 - 1878) is also descended from John &
Jean through their son Hugh (c1761 - ??) & his wife Ester but (from memory)
Hugh (1793) does not appear in a visitation list with Hugh & Ester.
I am connected to John Woods via the Johnston family.
