Dear Richard,
I don't think "bad habits are developing again in the list."  I'm new to the list this week and was confused by two messages that came in at the same time in reply to a posting--one was private and one was not.  The private one had an attachment, which I see has now ended up on the list.  If you think I am "ticked off" it's only because it felt like a hand slapping and not a gentle reminder.  It does tend to put one off when your hands are slapped the first time out.  I'm disappointed by your handling of things and don't feel particularly good about continuing to post to the list.  I have an enormous amount to share in this area and was willing to transcribe records for the list.
