Re: [Bann Valley] Maghera Communicant Roll Book
Hello Barbara: I think we are talking about a different time.I think I am in
the time zone before 1800 in Macosquin Parish.. y family is Robert And Sarah
Henry. Robert b. abt 1740. His father Robert M. Henry.I find Robert Henry in
the 1740 Protestant Householders list.. Also a Index of wills with Robert
Henry of Macosquin 1776. A William Henry in the 1796 Flax List. William
could be the oldest son of Robert. Robert died rrior to 1800 and the family
imigrated to the USA around 1799.It seems that there ought to some of the
family still around there. They tell me that there are no church records of
Macosquin to be had. I am having fun but a little frustrating at times. I
also found Robert, William and James Henry in the 1740 Hearth Rolls ,also in
the 1666 householders list William and Robert Henry in Camus Macosquin,
Coleeraine..
Still having fun Calvin M. Henry

Subject: [Bann Valley] Maghera Communicant Roll Book
Hi all!
Just to let you know that we have completed the first part of the
Communicant Roll Book for Maghera Presbyterian Church started in 1847 by
the Reverend Witherow. It continues up to 1894 in various formats. We
are still working on the second part which starts with new communicants
"after the summer of 1847". This is a wonderful resource for the famine
years and shows many communicants leaving for America, their dates of
removal, townlands, and whether they went with certificates.
I will be glad to do any lookups on the film if you think your ancestors
may have been in this church.
Have fun!
