Well two situations come to mind.

1. Perhaps John Bradley's parents weren't married.

2. Perhaps Ann Torrence WAS married to Bradley..he died.. then she married Torrance.. he also died. That way she'd be head of household and her son WOULD be John Bradley..

Of course, there could be other possibilities!:-)
