Re: [Bann Valley] Hearth Money Roll
Hello Barb: I have been searching for my Henry ancestors of the Coleraine.
Acording to the Presbyterian Church there are Henry's listed in the hearth
records of five Henry's namely Robert Henry ,Parish of Camus Macosquin,
Coleraine. during the 1660 time also there are 15 Henry famlies during the
1740 Hearth tax records namely William , Robert and James Henry, Parish, of
Macosquin- The family records-says the Head of my famly-- Robert Henry born
1740 his father Robert M Henry .The father Robert suposibly died prior to
1790 when the family imigrated to America. This leaves me at a dead end. Is
there any sourse for information of my Family?
Thank you for any information regaurding my Family. I remain Calvin M
Henry

Subject: [Bann Valley] Hearth Money Roll
Hi Bill,
I guess anything is possible. It's a long haul to do genealogy in
Ireland.
It is my understanding that the Hearth Money Roll bascially lists those of
the most substantial persons who could afford to pay tax. It is such a
short list that it is pretty clear not everyone is on it or had a hearth.
Good luck!!
Barbara
