[Bann Valley] Re: Torrens in Farmington Illinois

Yesterday I found the following information on the Illinois, Fulton County
site. . . .

From the "History of Fulton County Farmington township" pub in 1879 by
C.C. Chapman . . . . .
James Torrens, farmer, was born July 3, 1822, in Ireland, son of
Robert and Nancy (Watt); came to this county in 1849 and settled in sec. 16,
Farmington tp.; he now owns 200 acres in this county, and is a successful farmer.
In 1852 he married Lucy Ann Pierce, and they have two daughters, Sarah Jane
and Mary Ann. Congregationalists. Republican. P.O., Farmington. (page 694)

My Robertson ancestors (gt gt grandparents James C. Robertson and wife
Rachel CUNNINGHAM) and some of their related Till family of Aghadowey, as
well as some McKeighan's all came from N. Ireland and settled in the Fulton
County, Farmington Township, and neighboring Fairview Twp. area of Knox County in
central Illinois.
     Karen, now in Oklahoma
