Thank you for your copious notes about Rev John Smith of Kilrea! Much appreciated! "A History of Congregations in the Presbyterian Church in Ireland, 1610-1982" gives this rather short account about him: (page 569)

Mr John Smith of Moneymore was ordained on 17 March 1794. He was accused of complicity in the '98 Rebellion and was imprisoned. In 1795 the Synod granted his request to be removed from the Route to Ballymena Presbytery. He died on 7 September 1821.
