Re: [Bann Valley] New members

Hi Ken,
I am Wanda Wallace and I live in Western Canada. My grandfather, William Wallace, was born at Rasharkin in 1890. My father, William Hale Wallace, was born at Craigs in 1923 and came to Canada with his parents at a young age. I have quite a bit of history on this clan of the Wallace's. If you think you are related to them or the Henry's I could probably help you out.
Cheers
Wanda

Hello fellow members.

I am Ken Ray, live in Florida, and have been doing family research for a number of years. My great grandparents left the Rasharkin area to travel to the Albany - Troy area of New York State in 1887. The surname at the time was REA but later changed by (I believe) a naturalization clerks error as listing shows RAY and forever it stands.

My interest in family matters does focus on the REA name but also my great grandmothers surname; McCaughern (and variations of its spelling). Also I cannot locate my gr, gr grandmothers family with variations of spelling of her name McConnels, McConnelly or McConkie. Cannot find any record of their burial; (Charles Rea and Nancy/Anna McConnelly) they attended the Rasharkin Presbyterian Church.

Other interests in family names are; McShane, Nixon, Wallace, McAuley, Veith

The Rea's settled in the area of New York along with many other Northern Ireland/County Antrim families such as; Wilson, Bamford, Black, Killough, Torrens, Dunlop, Thorns, Dysart, Graham, Elder, Beattie, Cairns, Birkby and Taylor. I have found information on many of these family names in my research. If anyone is interested in the above names I would be happy to pass along what data I have for them.

Thank you for allowing me into this group, hope we can share our knowledge.
