RE: [Bann Valley] New members

Hello Richard and other Bann Valley listers
I confess I have been one of the long time member lurkers and your
enthusiasm has prodded me back into action to try to surmount the brickwalls
that seem to criss cross both my tree and that of my husband. Both sides
emigrated to Australia around the time of the potato famine from the area
around Kilrea, including Tamlaght O'Crilly, Moynock, Lislea ,Eden Glenone,
Killymuck and Drumoolish to name a few.

Families include McNeill, Pollock, Boggs, Armstrong, Sloan, Smith,Irwin. I
have visited the graves of my 3G grand parents Abraham McNeill and his wife
Mary Armstrong in St Patricks C of I , Kilrea, and of my husband's 3G
grandparents Robert Pollock and Isabella Smith in Tamlaght O'crilly. I
would dearly love to swap information with anyone chasing any of these
families.

Whilst the early emigrants arrived in Australia in the late 1850s and early
1860s, ironically one of the Boggs family (husband's side) arrived in Sydney
in 1907 and stayed on her arrival with descendants of the early McNeills (my
side) - after half a century, we do not know whether there was any family
connection, and then around 60 years later my husband and I met and married.
I would love to solve this conundrum.

This is a great resource and I am so grateful to Richard and the other
wonderful researchers who support the page so well
Thank you all
Rosemary Pollock

There have been several new members recently - hullo to you!

The list is generally quiet until a new member joins, introduces themselves
and says what their interest are. Most of us have been her for a long time,
so have more or less wrung each other dry.

So who are you all?
