17 Feb 1805
My x3 great grandparents were William Gilmore (died 29 May 1819) who
married Nancy Johnston on 17 Feb 1805.  They were the parents of my x2 gt
grandfather William Gilmore (1807-1888) of the Rockhead.  His wife (also
Elizabeth Gilmore) was the daughter of John Gilmore of nearby Blackrock.  I
wouldn't be surprised to discover they were first cousins. I do have a few
Johnstons on the tree, one of whom is a DNA match with ancestors from
Caulhame, Desertoghill.  I haven't come across Drumsaragh as yet but to be
completely honest, I've neglected this side of the family for too long.

I was once told that Nancy (Johnston) Gilmore remarried after William's
death in 1819.  With seven young children to bring up it would have been
very likely but I have no documentary evidence to support it.
