Just to prove it's not difficult, here's the 1660 analysis of forenames.

One or two surprises.

Abraham - rare
Adam    - rare
Paul    - rare 
Mungo   - not so rare
Samuel  - rare.
All occur as Ts, though only Samuel on our patch.

Hugh's not very common.

Of the common names, several don't get into our patch, Donnell, George,
Patrick. William's exceeding common, but not in our patch.

John: ten a penny!

I don't know if it shows anything: how did naming patterns change in those
days?
