OK here I go. I don't know how to answer each point para by para per  
netiquette so will have to try to combine points at the top.
 
I was in contact in 1999 by email after correspondence with Linde with what  
I thought was my line. I said to her that I descended from Rev, Robert 
Torrens,  Minister of Churchtown who was also descended from her line. She told me 
what I  had found from your 4QD site that Rev, Robert had no son with the name 
Samuel. 
 
However, various points such as Samuel being a common family name, Samuel's  
wedding witness being John L (Lusk?) Torrens and his daughter being named  
Rosanna (after his mother, Rosanna?) along with their being another brother,  
Alfred etc. persuaded me to investigate further. From 4QD I had a list of  
siblings usually born at about two year intervals except 1850 when our Samuel  was 
born.
 
I visited Churchtown/Tamlaght O'Crilly and was fortunate in finding the  
church elder who had the original parish records. In 1850 there are some  'spoilt' 
entries which could have been for Samuel's birth (I have photos). This  is of 
course not conclusive. I was told of another Englishman TPC Mulholland who  
was a descendant of Nancy Torrens, Rev. Robert's Daughter. He  had claimed to 
have a list of all Rev. Robert's children. I rang him when I  returned home and 
as he was ill (since died) I spoke to his daughter who found  the list which 
included Samuel. --- QED ---! I informed Linde who agreed that we  are indeed 
cousins.
 
As an aside. My father seemed to think that as Samuel emigrated to England  
and had given the reason to be religious bigotry that he was the black sheep of 
 the family and as his Dad wrote the register possibly 'unwrote' it as  well!
 
I wrote about the above to Linde by snail mail in 2005. I also have TCP  
Mulholland's line from Rev. Robert if you want it.
